JOHN BUSKENS
John leaves behind his wife Mary of 56 years; their two sons, Tony and Rick, their wives, Donna and Shazia; his three grandsons, Armaan, Raushan and Kamran; his sisters, Marie and Brenda; his brother Andries, and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, sibling and friend. Born in the Netherlands in 1936 to a family of 11 children, John moved to Canada at age 25 with $10.00 in his pocket and a hole in his shoe. There, he became a commercial electrician, met Mary and together they built a strong and secure future for themselves and their children. John always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He cherished his family deeply, and was grateful for the life he lived.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in John's name to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

My Sister Pauline and also our Father Paul and Mother Ada Always & Often spoke enthou-siasticly about their Dutch Friends John & Mary Buskens. A Much Appreciated Couple and Beacon in this Sea of Canadians. With Whom you could Speak Dutch, Recognize Jokes and Proverbs. Also Share the Culture and Roots of a Now Far Away Homeland. This makes you feel Less Lonely and more At Home when you Suddenly arrive in this Large New Country. And have to begin Build Up your Existence. Pauline arrived here Before 1965. You will All Miss John very Much. And I will Cherish the Remembrance if his Name. - Posted by: A.M. Kloezeman (Lyon) (Friends of my Sister A. Pauina Cross) on: Sep 14, 2020
