ANNE (HANYA) MANDRYK

It is with deep sadness, that we regret to announce the passing of Anne (Hanya) Mandryk, beloved mother, mother-in-law, baba, sister-in-law, chocha and friend, on
Saturday, December 14, 2019, with family at her side.
Hanya is predeceased by her husband
Metro and loving sisters and their husbands, Pauline (Frank), Cecile (Silvio), as well as brother-in-law Willy.
She leaves behind daughter Wendy, sons, Danny (Susanne) from Phoenix, Pat (Dalyce) from Calgary; grandchildren, Shanna (Glen), Joshua, Daniel (Kaylan), Ryan (Jazmyn), Tara (Tyler); great-grandchildren, Chance,
Alexandria, Peyton, Raelynn, Jo Jo, and Chloe; brother-in-law Rick (Leona), sister-in-law Lena and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
Mom was born in Fort William, Ontario on January 28, 1931, and had very fond
memories of her childhood. They were
extremely close knit as she was growing up and the bond she shared with her sisters, only grew when they married and started having children. The value and importance of strong family ties was imparted by each of the
sisters onto their children, and continues within our family to this day. One of the highlights for mom, was after retirement,
spending the winters in Tucson and Phoenix where she basked in the love of family and
grandchildren. Mom's greatest gifts were her kindness, generosity and her love of family and all those around her. Her strong faith helped her to deal with the many obstacles she experienced and did her best to accept each with a firm conviction that everything happens for a reason. She always took the high road, gave others the benefit of the doubt, and truly was loved by all who knew her. As mom aged and given her mobility
issues, she moved into Vista Park Lodge where she spent the last 2 1/2 years of her life. Again, in typical fashion, although she wished things could be different mom
accepted this with such grace.
We would like to thank the staff at Vista Park Lodge for the wonderful care that she received. The personal touches that many of you provided did not go unnoticed by mom or the family.
Mom will be cremated this week and a memorial service and interment will take place at Glen Lawn Funeral Home and
Cemetery, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. on
Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to a charity of your choice.

  • Wendy, Danny & Pat, We had many wonderful phone visits with your mom. We remember her as being pleasant, one who never complained, who dressed beautifully, always had her hair done and a smile on her face. In her younger days, she made the best blueberry dessert, which we all enjoyed. We will miss her dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May she rest in peace. • I used to work at a pharmacy in Southdale that Mrs. Mandryk would visit, and she was an absolute pleasure to serve. She was so polite, and anyone working in pharmacy knows that's a gift to us in itself, yet she treated us with candy every Christmas! She was such a nice lady, one you will always remember. Rest in peace Mrs. Mandryk. - Posted by: Bradley Pisiak (acquaintance) on: Dec 21, 2019
