JOYCE BROOKE
(nee STEWART)
1930 - 2020

Joyce passed away peacefully on January 3, a few weeks short of her 90th birthday. She loved her family and that love was returned many times over.
She is survived by her two children, Chris (Peggy), and Sharron (Beau), who provided such patient and caring support to her in her later years. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Gordon (Lindsay), Eric (Ericka), and Everly (Dennis), and her four great-grandchildren who delighted her so much.
Joyce was born in Montreal. She met Gordon Brooke shortly after he returned from his service in the RCN during the Second World War and they married in 1948 in Greenfield Park Quebec. The two raised their family on Macaulay Avenue in St. Lambert and were active in the community. Joyce and Gord followed their children and grandchildren first to London, Ontario and then to Winnipeg. Her green thumb led to beautiful gardens wherever they ventured. The two resided in St. Vital and enjoyed 59 years of marriage before Gord passed away in 2007.
The family is lucky to have many fond and cherished memories of Joyce and there will be a celebration of her life on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society in her name.
