DEIRDRE ANN DEGAGNE
nee MOORE

Deirdre, aged 76, died peacefully holding the hands of her loving husband Hubert, on January 28, 2020, at St. Boniface Hospital.
Deirdre was born in Dublin, Ireland, the third child and only girl of six children. She immigrated to Canada when she was 14 years of age. After raising their family of two children, Philip and Louise, in British Columbia, Deirdre and Hub returned to Manitoba and settled in Victoria Beach. It was there that Deirdre thrived taking care of her beautiful garden and developing many friendships. Deirdre's generous spirit led her to be an active participant in community building and a volunteer in all the places she lived.
She is the special Aunt and Great-Aunt to many children, all of whom keep her in their hearts and minds as a wonderfully loving and caring family member.
She has been particularly blessed to have enjoyed, in presence and in spirit, the love-filled support of her daughter Louise (Kathleen); her son Philip (Shernaz); and her two grandchildren Kieran and Zoe. Her loving husband, Hubert, has been her unwavering partner, walking with her every step as she journeyed home.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on February 7, 2020, at Christ the King Parish, 874 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg. There will be a reception held following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Manitoba Riding for the Disabled Association (MRDA). An organization Deirdre was passionate about and worked tirelessly as a past Executive Director.

  • Hubert, Louise and Philip, we are thinking of you and all the extended family at this sad time. As a family we are delighted that Gwen could travel to be with you and represent the Irish Moore’s. It was very special to spend time with Aunty Deirdre and Louise when they came to Dublin last year and reconnect after many years, we had great chats with Deirdre remembering happy times spent together when we visited everyone in Canada. I have very special memories of a lovely day we spent together in Dublin city, we visited Bewelys coffee shop on Grafton St for lunch and had fun shopping picking out clothes together (to my memory she did purchase a few items! 😏) Aunty Deirdre always had great style. Sending love to you all. Roseanna, Damien, Ellen, Owen and David (Petticrew) X - Posted by: Roseanna Petticrew (Niece ) on: Feb 01, 2020
