Olive was my Aunty Blanches favourite cousin they kept in touch their whole lives. She was the most generous loving and kind lady to my Aunt Blanche . Aunty Blanche lived with me the last years of her life on Vancouver island near Bates beach! She finally went into Glacier View care facility she had a stroke and couldn’t talk no longer speak. Olive sent flower arrangements to the care home every Christmas Birthday and Easter my Aunts eyes would shine and the smile that came on her face for only those she loved would appear as I read the greeting card from Olive! My Aunt lived 3 years in the care home and we would write Olive letters with me asking if that was what she wanted to say she would nod or shake her head ! She could still sign her name with her beautiful hand writing! I would call Olive and she would call me and tell her a letter was arriving and her she had received it! Aunty Blanche was like a mother to me and she seemed to love to chat and sensed I needed a Women figure in my life as Beatrice the youngest of the Lambert cousins died when I was very young . We continued are calls for years after Aunty died and I loved to hear about her excitement of a up coming trip or family visit. The last time I heard from her was when she first called me when she had gone to the care home! I was in the middle of a lot of things that day and wrote it on a piece of paper! I lost the number and I did not remember the care home name! I was not alarmed at first because Olive always kept in touch! She was Olive carting always worrying about others! I knew no other family or friends numbers and over the years it has Saddened me that I could not send those flowers to her in the care home that made me so happy ! I finally thought that I should stop beating myself up that I loved Olive and she loved me we had never met and yet we had touched each others life !! I realized Olive was probably dead so that’s when stupid me I looked for her Obituary God Rest Her soul she had been a Angel for years but never stayed to far from my ❤️ heart ! If somehow her dear family gets this your mom gave me lots of love and made my Aunts last years special I wish only I could have done more for her ! My love Always Bren Nordhus You were quite the lady and any one you touched where blessed !I hope you And Aunty are holding hands and laughing as you did when you were young! I look up to the heavens and leave you in gods hands ! I am sure he is happy to have two such angels to put to Gods work !! You will be missed - Posted by: Brenda Nordhus (Blanche Battrum maiden name Lambert) on: Feb 19, 2025

My deepest sympathy to Susie and Steve and all of the Pelland family. Your mom was such a kind soul and I will always remember her kindness, hospitality and great baking and cooking. I may have to make a batch of ‘out of the world’ cookies in her honour. She’s at peace and it’s so ironic that she should pass on my mom’s birthday who lived a few houses down from the Pellands. Two beautiful souls looking upon their families. May you rest in peace Mrs. Pelland. Take good care of her maman! - Posted by: Pauline Belanger (Friend of family ) on: Apr 04, 2020
