BRIAN DAVID ANDERSON
May 21, 1938 - April 23, 2020

With deep sorrow our family announces the passing of Brian David Anderson, at the age of 81, after a hard-fought battle with COPD.
Brian loved his career in hospital administration, earning his CA/CPA degree including studies in ethics, and involved in other associations related to health care over a period of 50 years, as part of many Winnipeg hospital executive teams. He retired from his career at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba in 2016.
Brian was predeceased by his parents, Mamie and Skuli Anderson. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 54 years, Iris (nee Sitar), and his beloved daughter Nancy Anderson and her daughter Alix Cox, beloved daughter Catherine Davis, son-in-law Mark Davis and their son Jordan, daughter Jessica and husband Zach Fontaine. Brian is also survived by his sister Joan Anderson.
Brian was a loving devoted father to his two daughters whom he cherished and enjoyed participating in their lives as they grew, supporting their interests in music and art and the importance of education.
Brian was also a former board member of the original Sturgeon Creek United Church where Brian and Iris were married and the children were baptized, encouraging their understanding of the importance of faith and the tenets of forgiveness and grace, which he himself practiced with others in his life.
Despite many challenging times, Brian never lost his faith in God. As a family we have many fond memories over the years of summers spent at the family's lakefront cottage at Whytewold Beach and decades of sharing wonderful family times together. His beloved grandchildren were a joy and he was so grateful to have been able to watch them grow up from the time they were born into the amazing young adults they have become.
For many years as a couple Brian and Iris enjoyed outings to Manitoba Theatre Centre, Manitoba Chamber Orchestra concerts as well as memorable trips near and far.
Our gratitude to Brian's physician Dr. David Breckman, for his expertise, and caring over many years.

Iris will miss hearing Brian often tell her
"everything's going to be okay love."

Having four English yellow Labrador as constant companions over 42 years, Brian would love knowing anyone wishing to make a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society would allow them to continue their honourable work.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal funeral service.
