HEINRICH BLATZ
He is survived by Carol, his wife of 65 years; kids, Ron (Gwen), Penny (Brian), Perry (Doreen), Darren, Kelly (Nicki), Rob (Dawn), and Lisa (Petie). He is also survived by his sister Doreen (Elmer); brother Daniel (Helen); 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Andreas and Katerina Blatz; three brothers; five sisters; and daughter-in-law Helene Hacault.
Harry has been cremated and will be interred in the Broadlands Cemetery.

Carol and Family, Joyce and I were so saddened by the news of Harry’s sudden passing. What a guy Harry was. I’ve known Harry for over 50 years beginning with our first encounter at the mill. I took an immediate liking to Harry and that never wavered over the years. When I close my eyes I can still hear Harry loud and clear. Especially his unmistakable laugh. God Bless. When I saw the name, Blatz, I immediately thought of my Grade 9 home-room teacher in Ethelbert, Miss Penny Blatz. She was just starting her teaching career and I don't know but we might have been her first students! Our class raised money and that spring ('79) we went with her on our school bus trip to the big city, almost a 5-hour drive, stayed in a hotel for a couple of nights and toured Winnipeg. Fun times, especially for a bunch of 15-year-old kids from the country! Now I don't know if the daughter of Mr. Heinrich Blatz, Penny, is the Penelope that taught us at Ethelbert School, but whether it is or not, my condolences Penny to you and your family.
