FRANCIS HENRY (FRANK) CRUSE
Born: August 30, 1948
Date Of Passing: September 24, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Cruse. Frank passed away at his home that he loved so much on Thursday, September 24, 2020.
Frank was born on August 30, 1948. He was predeceased by both his parents, Francis Warwick Cruse and Ruth Marguerite Cruse; father-in-law John Wiens, and unexpectedly, his loving wife of 42 years, Sandy Cruse.
He is survived by one sister and one brother; mother-in-law Barbara Wiens; son Cory; daughter Kelly, and grandpups, Mumford and Harley.
Frank will always be remembered for his love, commitment, and devotion to his family and dear friends. He was the first in his family to get an undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Arts) at the University of Winnipeg. Once Frank graduated, he worked at the family clothing store, Cruse's Men's Wear where he became President. Later, he then was employed as a Document Examiner at the Property Registry in 1984 where he stayed until his retirement.
He had a quick wit and a wicked sense of humour that everyone around him enjoyed. Frank, on the weekend before his passing, was able to come out and enjoy one last slo-pitch fall tournament with his beloved A's. Even though he did not play anymore, he would often watch and "cheer" from the sidelines.
Frank was an avid sports fan, mostly hockey and golf. His loyalty never wavered from his Detroit teams, primarily the Detroit Red Wings. One memorable memory was going to the Hockey Hall of Fame and to see the Jets play the Wings at the old Joe Louis Arena with Cory and Kelly in 2011. Frank walked those front steps like the true champ he was. "Winning!"
All through his life he played hockey. As an adult, he played on three teams: Land Titles, Eagles and the Hawks. Frank was so honoured when the Hawks retired his number (19) last summer. He beamed with pride that he was the first to have this accomplishment.
"Frankie" was truly one of a kind, lived life his way and on his terms. We hope you and Mom are reunited in your backyard telling "lies" as you would often say; while listening and dancing to your favourite records.
A private interment will be held at a later date. Also, a Celebration of Life, to honour our father will be held when it is safe to do so.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
