COLLEEN MARGARET FOUILLARD
(BANKS)
September 23, 1960 - September 29, 2020

Just a few days after her 60th birthday, Colleen Margaret Fouillard (nee Banks) suddenly and unexpectedly passed away, surrounded by her loving husband and her four adult children.
Born in Melita, Manitoba, Colleen brought smiles and laughter wherever she would go. At age 19, she moved to Winnipeg to work at Beaver Lumber and obtain an education at Herzing College. She married Jim Murray and raised four beautiful children. She would later marry Marc Fouillard who brought four more children to the mix which made each family gathering a truly memorable experience. All those that knew her, whether family, close friends, distant relatives, work colleagues, or acquaintances from coast to coast were always charmed by her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, and loving personality. Her favourite pastime was to spend time with her close friends, her children and even her children's friends. She was an avid golfer and a huge Winnipeg Jets fan. She was seldom seen not wearing some sort of Jets branded apparel. Colleen also enjoyed winter getaway vacations with her husband which gave way in recent years to exploring North America in their beautiful motorhome.
She is survived by her husband and soulmate Marc, her adoring children, Lisa, Michael (Chantelle), Scott and Danny (Courtney), as well as her stepchildren, Robb, Danielle, Monique (Rich) and Rachelle (Jon), and her precious stepgrandson Luc. She is also survived by her brothers, RJ (Kelly), Gene (Lynn), Delmar (Brenda), and nieces Angie, Rhonda, Kathy, Tracy, Michelle and Jennifer. Colleen was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Elsie Banks (nee Perry).
You were an angel in the shape of my mum. And when God took you back He said, "Hallelujah, you're home."
Private viewings will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home on October 7, 2020. Due to COVID 19 gathering restrictions, attendance will be by invitation only. It is our hope that we will be able to celebrate Colleen's life in an appropriate manner soon.

Condolences & Memories (14 entries)

  • Marc, we were both shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden passing of our wonderful neighbor Colleen. Such a friendly and hospitable person, you both have been such wonderful neighbors. We've often commented on your hospitability and friendliness, and how you have family and friends over on the deck in the summer almost every weekend. It is with heavy hearts that we write this. Sincerely. Extended condolences to the rest of the family - children, step-children and their spouses. May your family provide and faith provide support and comfort during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with you all. B & W & kids - Posted by: Brad & Wendy Elenbaas/Family (Neighbour) on: Oct 13, 2020

  • To Marc and Colleen's family, I am so sorry to hear of the news and so sorry for your loss. Colleen and I worked together for many years at the St. Vital Hearing Centre and shared so many good times over the years. Yes Colleen had a great smile and laugh and of course very smart and witty. An absolute pleasure to work with. I have many sporting memories with Colleen cheering on the Blue Jays. Colleen always spoke lovingly of her children and Marc. God bless Colleen and family. • To Marc and Colleen’s family: You are in my thoughts and prayers as we all deal with her passing. I had the privilege of working with Colleen during the Gambro/Baxter days. Being based in Denver, CO, but reporting through the Toronto office, made keeping in lock step with my Canadian colleagues difficult. Colleen truly was my bridge, in many ways, to that team. Beyond that, she was a smart, hard worker who always knew how and when to put work life into perspective and shift focus to family and friends. We enjoyed a great working relationship, but we certainly broadened that into a terrific friendship. Colleen always knew when my kids had birthdays and had an incredible ability to recall details of my life and family at will. I will miss this unique connection immensely. As hard as this news has been, I’m lifted each day because of the profound impact she had on me. The fond memories and her positive spirit will remain a guiding force in my life. Colleen, I think of you often and may your wonderful soul continue to touch others forever. - Posted by: Marc Doran (friend and colleague) on: Oct 06, 2020

  • I will remember Colleen’s beautiful smile and joyful personality. She and I were always the younger sisters of our siblings who were married for awhile. I was happy to reunite with Colleen a couple of years ago. I have also enjoyed watching the many adventures that Colleen & Marc embarked on. She and Marc lived life to the fullest. Colleen your presence will be missed. Sincere condolences to Marc and your family. Truly a beautiful lady taken far too soon. May you Rest In Peace. - Posted by: Marlene Miller (Friend ) on: Oct 05, 2020

Colleen had just celebrated her birthday a few days earlier and then this sad news . We met Colleen and Marc when they lived in Newmarket and we carried that friendship on long after they moved back to Winnipeg and most recently in 2018 when they were travelling in there new RV. • To the Fouillard Family: I was fortunate enough to work with Colleen during my 7 years at Gambro & Baxter. Not only was she a good friend, she was undoubtedly one of the most talented professionals I've ever worked with. Colleen was intelligent, competent, diligent, caring, humble, passionate, reliable, & fully committed to supporting her colleagues from coast-to-coast. Her role is something I'd fear doing for a living, but she absolutely owned it! I commonly refer to Colleen's incredible skills and the trust we all put in her as I fumble my way through RFPs in my current role. The difference one amazingly talented person can make to many is truly incredible. Colleen will be dearly missed, not only for her professional excellence, but for her charm, her sense of humour, and for just being awesome! Rest in peace, my friend. - Posted by: Greg O'Brien (Friend and former colleague) on: Oct 05, 2020

  • Colleen will be missed by many. It was nice to see her through the years when she used to visit family in Melita. We had a wonderful visit two years ago at our school reunion. Thoughts and prayers are with family and friends. - Posted by: Kim Vandendorpe (Breemersch) (School Friend) on: Oct 03, 2020

  • Such a tragedy with the loss of Colleen. She was our neighbour back in the 80's on Greenwood Avenue. She was a teammate to both of us as our pitcher in Slow-Pitch, and just an overall great person. Loved her smile and personality. We're going to miss you Colleen. May you rest in peace. • We were both so shocked and saddened to hear of Colleen's passing. While we didn't see her often we both thought she was a wonderful, caring person and was so much fun. We feel fortunate that we got to see her earlier this summer at a dinner with high school friends, where she and I had a good discussion about our love of Merlot! Our hearts go out to all her children and stepchildren but most especially to Marc, my good friend from school, on a loss no one can comprehend. - Posted by: Teri & Warren Curle (Friends) on: Oct 03, 2020
