BEATTY: Gladys Elizabeth Beatty (nee Pearson) passed away at the Souris Personal Care Home with family at her side, June 11, 2009. Gladys was born November 27, 1920 in Austin, Manitoba. She lived all her life in Austin up to the year 2004, when she moved to Thompson to be with her daughter, Grace and family until October of 2005. At that time she moved into the Souris Personal Care Home where she was well taken care of by all the PCH staff. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She also loved to tell jokes and get and keep everyone laughing. We will all miss her dearly, especially the joking. She was predeceased by her husband, Claude Beatty, her parents, Peter and Lily Pearson, brothers, George (Sylvia), Percy, Dave, Erle, and Doug who died in Hong Kong, sisters, Myrtle (Ken) Campbell, Edna (Chris) Sanderson, Edith (Tommy) Grant, son-in-law, Otto Bindle. She is survived by son, Ron (Jan) Russell of Souris, daughter, Grace Bindle of Thompson, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Hattie Pearson and Jean Lowe, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Austin. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Gladys to the Souris Personal Care Home Sunroom Fund, Box 10, Souris, Manitoba, R0K2C0 or Austin Community Hall Building Fund at Austin, Manitoba, R0H0C0.
