ELVERS: Mabel Elvers, beloved wife of William “Bill” Elvers, passed away at the Valleyview Care Centre on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the age of 86 years. Mabel was born at Medora, Manitoba on September 25, 1924 to Bernard and Beatrice Parsons. Mabel and her family moved to several areas in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario, as her father was a minister. She attended Normal School in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and she taught at various schools throughout Manitoba and Ontario. She met her husband, William (Bill) Elvers, in Rossburn, Manitoba and they were married in Fort Frances, Ontario in 1951. Mabel was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Brandon and she enjoyed bowling, curling and golfing. Cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service.
