BEATTY: Margaret Hazel Beatty (Nee Watson). With a heavy heart we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mother and Nanny on Sunday, March 18th, 2012 at West Park Manor in Winnipeg. Manitoba at the age of 95. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Wellington Keal Beatty in 1964, Special Friend and Companion Jim Summers in 1977 and three sisters and four brothers. Leaving to cherish her memory are her children Mel (Chris) Beatty, Sharon Greenberg, (Special friend Ron), Joan Frazer, Grandchildren Tracy Chemick (Cory), Kelly Frazer (Paul), Step-Grandchildren Adrian (Brian) Douglas, Judy (Joel) Shuster, Alan (Tara) Greenberg, Jeffrey Greenberg, Great Grandchildren Ethan and Caleb Chernick, Sloan and Alice Frazer, Step-Great Grandchildren, Samuel & Baillee Shuster, Matthew Greenberg, Zachray and Gabriel Greenberg, Chloe Greenberg, and nieces and nephews. Mom was born and raised in Napinka, Manitoba. As a young girl she loved to do peoples' hair and subsequently became a hairdresser. After getting married she moved to Brandon where she lived the majority of her life. Her earlier years were devoted to her husband and raising their children. She was a fabulous homemaker and wonderful cook and baker. All of you who had her pies, butter tarts and special cookies can attest to that. She made every meal special and every celebration even more special. Mom's love for hairdressing never left her and once we were in high school she returned to work at the Flash Beauty Salon, where she continued to work for 43 years, retiring at the young age of 82 in 1999. Mom was also an active member of UCT until her retirement. After retiring Mom moved to Winnipeg in order that she could spend more time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were a major part of her life. Mom was a beautiful person inside and out and took extreme pride in her appearance right to the end. She was especially proud of her red hair. She was kind and hardworking, a loyal and caring individual who never complained or thought wrong ofanyone, and sometimes a little quiet and shy. As tiny as she was, she had a heart bigger than most. She was such a giver, never a taker. She touched the hearts of so many. We could not be more proud or honoured to have her as our Mother and Nan and she will live in our hearts always and forever.Good-bye my family, my life has passed,I loved you all to the very lastWeep not for me but courage take;Always continue to love each other for my sake. For those you love don't go away,They walk with and beside you every day.Family and Friends are invited to a luncheon to be held at George Brockie Fellowship Centre, (south end of the Funeral Home) 332 – 8th Street, Brandon, Manitoba on May 5th 2012 at 12:30 p.m. to celebrate her life and share their stories.
