HAPA: Robert Charles “Kanye Inajin” was born on May 5, 1949 on the Oak River Reserve, now known as Sioux Valley Dakota Nation. He started his journey to the spirit world on May 5, 2015 in Brandon, MB. Robert was born to parents Frank Hart and Melita Hapa. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving partner Gwen, stepchildren Bianca, Nathan and Tasheena, his son Eric (Tammy) and daughter Kim Robertson of Spirit Lake, ND, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great- great-grandchildren, adopted siblings and friends. Robert was predeceased by his wife Cleo Hapa (née Young), parents Frank Hart and Melita Hapa and sisters Barbara and Keitha Hapa. Robert enjoyed fishing, hockey, pow-wows and mostly spending time with his family and friends. Traditional Wake will be held at his residence in Sioux Valley on Saturday, May 9, 2015, commencing at 5:00 p.m. until Sunday, May 10, 2015. Interment will follow in the Hapa Cemetery. Robert will be forever missed by his many relatives and friends all across Turtle Island.
