BROWN (MacDonald): Linda Darlene Brown (MacDonald). Peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon, Darlene Brown died on August 11, 2016. She was born on April 30, 1946 in Minnedosa, the oldest child of Emma and Norman Holmstrom. She and siblings, Donna, Sharon and Weldon attended Minnedosa School. She went on to be a hard worker and had many jobs in her lifetime. She lived with Grant Hunter in Minnedosa and they had two daughters, Dawna and Kimberley. Later, she met Ron Clyde and they had one son, Dustin. Darlene and her three kids moved with Ron to Churchill and then to Thompson, MB where she took some counselling training. This led her into a job with the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba. It suited her as she had a real heart for those in need. After her children grew up, Darlene followed Dustin to Brandon in 2002. She met Doug Brown and they were married briefly. No matter what happened, her love of family remained central. In 2007, she met Terry MacDonald. They were married October 3, 2009 and lived the first year in the Boreham Park Apartment block, which she managed for over eight years. When she retired from AFM in 2010, they moved to Moore Park where they were living when she became ill. Darlene is survived by her husband Terry MacDonald, Moore Park, her three children: Dawna Bailey, Surrey, BC; Kimberley Hunter, Vancouver, BC; and Dustin Clyde, Winnipeg, MB. She had ten grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held to remember Darlene at Moore Park Cemetery on September 17, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. Lunch will follow at the Brookdale Drop-In Centre for all who would like to attend.
