BICKERTON: William (Bill) Bickerton. It is with sadness and much love we say goodbye to our beloved husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa who passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the age of 82. Bill will be missed so much by his wife, partner and best friend Jude of 57 years. He was blessed with four children: Sharon, Barry (Angela), Karen, and Dan (Marnie), who were all there for their dad during his 2 1/2 months in the hospital. Bill is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, his sister Kate Holt and many nieces and nephews. Bill was the second youngest of 10 kids and was born and raised in Elkhorn, a town and farming community that was always very special to him. He would take any opportunity to go back for a visit or even just for a drive around the various family farms. Bill was a paratrooper in the army for 3 years before starting a 35 year career with MTS as a lineman, and worked his way up in the construction field as construction foreman. He always spoke very fondly of his career with MTS as well as the many friends he made throughout those years. Bill loved following the kids hockey, was a long time Brandon Wheat King fan, and enjoyed watching Toronto Blue Jays and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. A Celebration of Billls life was held on September 5, 2018 and the outpouring of support was overwhelming. Bob Bickerton and Bert Pereys contributions to the program were greatly appreciated and their kind words represented both family and friends. Thank you to everyone for being so supportive over these past few months. A special thank you to Bert Perey who brightened many of Bills days over coffee or Happy Hour. To Earl and Wenda Wood thank you for being there for Mom at such a difficult time.Forever loved and missedJudy and family
