NICHOLS: Kevin Clifford Nichols. Kevin, beloved husband of Cari and loving father to Morgan and Lainie passed away on November 17th. He leaves to mourn his parents Clifford and Mary, sister Tanya, brother Dale (Shelly), mother-in-law Carole, brother-in-law Harry (Sheri), sister-in-law Tannis (Bob), nieces and nephews Kayla, Krystal, Tyson, Josie, Curtis, Riley and Randi and great-nephew Michael, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Kevin held a strong work ethic and followed his fathers career path as a Journeyman Sprinkler fitter, first with Simplex Grinnell and then with Bison Fire Protection as a Sprinkler manager. Kevin loved nature and the outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing with friends or camping with family and he shared that love of the outdoors with Morgan and Lainie. Throughout his life, Kevin participated in and coached many sports but his best talent and passion was football. As a member of the St. Vital Mustangs, Kevin developed a love for not only the game, but also for his teammates whom he considered his “brothers”. Kevin’s greatest joy was his children, Morgan and Lainie. He was immensely proud of both of his daughters with whom he not only shared his love of the outdoors with but also his competitive spirit. He spent countless hours at dance recitals, soccer fields and hockey rinks. Leading by example, Kevin taught his children laughter, kindness to others and to always put family first. Kevin was the best of husbands, the best of fathers and is forever in our hearts and our thoughts as we cherish our memories together. A celebration of Kevin’s life will take place on Saturday, November 24th at 2:00 p.m. at The United Church in Meadowood, 1111 Dakota Street. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or to St. Mary’s Academy Foundation and donations will be made to the Mother Mary Rose Bursary Fund.
