GALLOWAY: George (Wayne) Galloway, age 80, of Brandon, MB passed away March 14, 2019 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Wayne is survived by Leona Randall, daughter Sherry, grandsons Ben and Zach, sister-in-law Cecile, nephews George, Cory, Scott and Trevor, and their families, special cousin Elaine MacMillan. Extended family includes Leonas children Lana, Robert, Jeffery and Lori, their families, his cousins and many close friends, former MTS co-workers, curling community and fellow church members. Wayne was born May 31, 1938 in Assiniboia, SK, lived in Lakenheath, attending school in Readlyn and Assiniboia. Wayne started working with MTS at the age of 21, transferring to Dauphin for 10 years and finally to Brandon where he retired in 1995 after 38 years. Waynes passion most of all was curling, starting as a child in Readlyn, celebrating Provincial MTS Championships and many other good times, noted for his extended delivery slide often encroaching the 2nd hogline. Wayne was predeceased by his parents George and Marjorie and brother Neale, and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Wayne may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, Western Manitoba Cancer Centre, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Cancer Care and the Brandon Regional Health Centre. A Memorial Service will be held at Knox United Church, 451-18th Street, on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Brandon Municipal Cemetery.
