Allan Glen Derksen, age 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at St Michael’s Centre, Burnaby, BC.
Glen will be lovingly remembered by his soulmate, best friend and camping partner Elizabeth, his three daughters, Patricia (Bela), Leslie and Stephanie (Blake), six step-children (and their spouses), 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He leaves to mourn two sisters, one brother, the Derksen family, the Friesen family, and many more friends in the trucking industry.
Glen enjoyed many years in the trucking industry, always ready to start a conversation with someone new. He and Elizabeth enjoyed many camping trips, Indy and Nascar races, watching the Vancouver Canucks and his beloved Blue Jays. Above all, his sense of humour flourished until his last breath.
A celebration of Glen’s life will be held in the lower auditorium of the Steinbach Christian Mennonite Church, 479 Hanover St, Steinbach, on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 1-3 p.m. The family would like you to join them for a light lunch and refreshments.
Cremation has taken place. His ashes interment will take place at a later date at Beausejour Cemetery.
