DIANE BROESKY

Diane was born in Steinbach, Manitoba to Leonard and Jessie Wiebe on October 19, 1956. She was the oldest of six children. She attended school in Steinbach. She met the love of her life, Gerry, at quite a young age and they got married on her 17th birthday. At the time of her death they had been happily married a little more than 40 years.

Diane accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on June 18, 1972. This decision was not made lightly and she was faithful in her Christian walk right up until her home going. She was involved in many different ministries through the years. She had a heart for marriages and loved ministering to couples together with her husband Gerry. Even as her health deteriorated she remained actively involved as a pastor’s wife and spent many hours in intercessory prayer.

Diane was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis on March 9, 1988. As the disease progressed she gradually lost more and more mobility until she was totally confined to a hospital bed or her motorized wheelchair during the last four years of her life.

During all these times her faith never wavered. She graciously accepted each loss and was always so thankful for what she still had left. Diane was a gentle and peaceful person. Those close to her could just sense the presence of the Holy Spirit and the love of Jesus in her. She was so grateful to those who provided care for her.

On the morning of November 8, 2013, with family by her side, she was peacefully ushered into the presence of the Lord. Her long struggle with illness is over, she is totally healed; forever in the presence of Jesus.

We, as a family, would like to thank Homecare for all the excellent and compassionate workers sent to take care of Diane throughout the years. We are also very grateful for the compassionate end of life care extended by the doctors and nurses at Bethesda Hospital. And, a special thank you to Diane’s long-time physician, Dr Kaethler for blessing Diane and our family during the final weeks of her life.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Southland Church, Steinbach, Manitoba. Interment to follow at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.

If friends so desire, donations in memory of Diane may be made to Gospel Outreach for Cuba.
