DOLORES LILLIAN WINNIFRED OLSON (BOWEN)
March 5, 1930 – November 8, 2020
She was predeceased by parents, Eddie and Hazel Bowen, and husbands, Paul Bigourdin and Doug Olson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Corinne (Abe) and Sherry (Radar), and son, Jim (Carmela); grandchildren, Tia (Paul), Karen (Josh), Kimberly, Melissa (Chris), and Sara (Brett); and great- grandchildren, Cruz, Talia, Amira, Simon, Emmett, Quinn and Brody.
Mom was born and raised in the West End, where she lived with her parents, at her dad's barbershop on Notre Dame, later moving to McGee and Maryland St. Mom briefly worked at Eatons Audit, Pauline Chambers and The General Hospital prior to settling into her fulltime job at home raising her three children. Some of Mom's pastimes were reading, cooking and going for walks. She also loved singing and dancing, specifically the Red River Jig. Her love for country music was strong, with her favourite being George Jones. She attended many of his concerts and was even a part of his fan club!
In her later years, she moved to Petersfield and Selkirk, where she enjoyed the serenity of country living. Mom loved all animals; from her numerous dogs, to the blue jays and hummingbirds, she would feed up until her passing peacefully in her sleep.
Special thanks to her daughter, Sherry Voth, for the loving care she showed in the final days of Mom's life at her home in Clandeboye. The family would also like to thank, Dr. Donna Clark, Dr. Habtu Demsas, Palliative Care Nurse Melanie Bernas and Rock Fontaine for their compassionate care.

Monida (Micki) and I are so sorry and sad to hear Auntie Delores has passed. She was a real trooper. Our condolences to my cousins and their lovely families. Auntie will be watching over them in her loving way, and keeping them safe. We’re glad to hear she passed peacefully. We will miss her dearly. Living in Ottawa the last 28 years we haven’t seen Auntie or her family as often as we would have liked to but it was always enjoyable spending time with her when we did, or chatting on the phone with her. Sara’s wedding was a blast and it was great seeing you all. Auntie was always upbeat and positive when we visited with her - it makes me smile just thinking of her. She made our Uncle Doug happy. Strangely enough, the day after she passed and before I knew, I was randomly flipping through our photos and I landed on one with her and Micki in her last apartment suite, there she was smiling away. I sam so sorry to hear about Dolores's passing. My condolences to the whole family. Dolores was my Mom's maid of honor and best friend since they were 16. First and foremost we pass along our condolences to the family of Dolores. She was such a wonderful woman who was known as one of the 3 ‘Golden Girls’ in our family. We have many fond memories of her. In March, dad the chauffeur would drive the ‘Golden Girls’ to Kelikis Restaurant to celebrate their birthday’s together. It was always a pleasure to visit with Dolores and chat with her on phone. Such a caring individual she always asked how our family members were doing.
