JARVIS YAROSLAW KASIAN
November 29, 1932 - November 2, 2020
Jarvis is survived by his two sons, Rodney (Ramona, Nicholas, JC, Beatrice) and Lonnie (Shelley, Brittany (Dave), Matthew, Ashlyn (Dylan). He is also survived by his older sister, Nan Yurkiw and sister-in-law, Eileen Kasian.
He was predeceased by his father, Nicholas and mother, Tillie, brother, Paul and sisters, Anne (Frank) Bodner, Mary (Alex) Maksimchuk and Olga Villeneuve. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Jarvis was born in Ridgeville, MB in Nov ember 29, 1932. He grew up in the Tolstoi area from childhood. As he got older, he ventured to Chicago and back to Winnipeg, graduating from Tache Hall, University of Manitoba. In 1956, he married Claudia Wolanski. Over the next couple years they had Rodney (1958) and Lonnie (1960). Jarvis loved his boys. He also loved the Wolanski family!! He looked forward to Nana's Sunday suppers and cherished his friendship with the entire family.
In the early years, he worked for CN and even played hockey for the CN Nationals. He had worked for various finance companies, and then many business ventures over the years with Rupp Industries, a used car lot on Nairn and finally working with the CIBC with the dealership plan office. Not one to retire, he continued to work for the bank auditing dealerships. Jarvis lived a good life! He loved golf, curling and hockey, coaching Lonnie in hockey for several years, playing in Canada and the US, and winning 3 championship titles!
Jarvis' greatest joy was spending time at the cottage in Twin Beach with his grandchildren, Brittany, Matthew and Ashlyn, and of course the little puppies. He loved snowmobiling, hunting and many times spent with sister, Mary (Alex). Always good food and many drinks as they visited between cottages. A few years of his life was spent in Grand Marais, where he enjoyed friends and family there too.
As the years passed, Jarvis' love for his grandchildren grew even closer. He looked forward to visits with Brittany (Dave) and Linkin, Ashlyn (Dylan), Zoe, Reese and Ivy, and his beloved Matthew! He had his shopping, bed & laundry washed, gourmet meals and many kisses and scratches from the grand puppies. He was well looked after, needing nothing. He will be greatly missed.
Thank you for the calls, messages, flowers and shared memories.
As this time, as per Jarvis' wishes there will be no funeral service.

I remember many fun times at the lake -Grand Marais-with Jarvis when he wowed us with his culinary skills. Morel mushrooms and stuffed beet leaves just two of them. He introduced me to the wonders of dill a herb he loved Always such a great host and conversationalist. Loved looking at his calendar tucked away in the drawer which highlighted beach weather and what they had on the menu. And oh that garden... he worked diligently on it. Condolences to the family. He was well loved at the lake. Kathy - Posted by: Kathy Levesque (Friend ) on: Dec 26, 2020
