Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGISELE ALARIE
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Gisele Alarie on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at the age of 58.
Gisele will be dearly missed by her children Justin (Chelsea) and Rachael; her grandchildren Genevieve, Theo and Nicholas; her parents Donat and Irène; her siblings Doris, Gilbert, Michel (Gisele) and Carole (Perry); her nieces and nephews Candace, Kenny, McKinley and Cole; her family and her many friends.
Born March 31, 1962, Gisele was the third of five children. She learned the value of hard work growing up on the family farm in Ste. Agathe, MB. In junior high and high school, she enjoyed playing many sports, including basketball and volleyball. Gisele had a sense of humour and knew how to have fun.
Gisele began working at St. Amant Centre at the age of 19, and spent the next 40 years in a fulfilling career supporting persons with disabilities. She loved her clients on 3 North and always tried to make their holidays special with costumes and decorations.
Gisele worked hard to give her kids everything they needed growing up in Ste. Agathe. She was a great no-nonsense mom who loved her kids fiercely. As a special treat, she would even keep them home from school sometimes so they could sleep in, eat pancakes and go shopping or to the movies.
Family was everything to Gisele. She was a loyal daughter, a supportive sister and an enthusiastic aunt. Gisele whole-heartedly embraced her role as Memère and loved to spoil her grandkids. They will particularly miss sleepovers at her house and playing in the backyard.
Gisele had a gift for bringing people together. She loved hosting “casual, no-stress” gatherings in her backyard. Many days and evenings were spent relaxing by the pool or the fire and listening to Blake Shelton on repeat. She was a supportive and loving friend, who was always available to lend a hand or have a chat at the kitchen table.
As much as she could be the life of the party, Gisele was most herself at home. She loved watching curling, Tyler Perry movies and Little House on the Prairie, and she never missed Days of Our Lives.
Gisele truly believed in the magic of Christmas. Every year, she would make her snack mix weeks in advance, watch Hallmark Christmas movies, and belt out Céline Dion’s Christmas album.
She will be remembered for her generous heart, sense of humour, resilience, and fun-loving spirit.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital and the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care unit for their excellent care. They offered her comfort and dignity during her brief yet courageous battle with cancer, and for that we are grateful.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. If friends wish to honour her memory, donations may be made to St. Amant Foundation (stamant.ca/donate or 204-258-7073).
Family and friends may sign a book of condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.

So sorry to the parents siblings and children of Gisele. When I joined the Pelletier family many years ago, I met Gisele and her sisters. Oh my goodness she certainly was a fun girl but a lovely person who truly did live laugh and love. Very funny and we shared many giggles. Loved this girl. I think I only had to look at her and I would giggle. My heart breaks because she will truly be missed by family and friends. Gisele you will be missed by myself and uncle Paul. We were so sad to hear of your struggle. May you resist in peace in Gods arms. Love Linda and Paul xo - Posted by: Linda Pelletier (Aunt and uncle ) on: Nov 17, 2020

Gisele and her family moved in next door to me and we quickly became friends. Lots of good memories having pool parties, and sitting around a fire in our back yard many a summer night. Gisele was a great friend to me. She was there for me when I was going through difficult times. She supported me in my energy work as Reiki Master. She took in all my seminars and took Reiki training courses Level 1 and 2, which she used in her work at St. Amant. She was so dedicated to defending those who could not defend themselves. She was a true earth angel and I miss her and pray for her every day. Goodbye, my friend - until we meet again! - Posted by: Estelle Reder (Friend and neighbour ) on: Nov 15, 2020

Gisele, I will never forget your laugh. Thank you for being you. I would look at you when you were dealing with the people we work with and your compassion was beautiful. You were a non nonsense worker but in a fantastic way. I loved our conversation when it was just you and me. The way you glowed when talking about your grandchildren was absolutely beautiful. They are going to miss you so much. I’m heart broken that I’ll never be able to hear about them again. You were one in a million Gisele and I’m so very happy that I was able to meet and work with you. My condolences to the family. Please look after yourselves. - Posted by: Karen Hanton (Co-worker at St. Amant) on: Nov 14, 2020

My deepest condolences to Justin Rachael and the family. Gisele is very missed at St. Amant and things just wont be the same. Gisele and I had many great times together in the last 21 years I've known her. We took an accounting course together many years ago and after class we would go straight to big guys lounge have some drinks and had so many laughs. Many laughs by her pool. She would invite us girls after work for drinks and a swim...I will certainly miss her company and our chats together. - Posted by: Jaimee Adams (Friend/co worker) on: Nov 14, 2020
