CARL ROLAND THOMAS
November 6, 1939 - December 18, 2021

On December 18, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer, Papa was called home. The love and life we shared with Papa was a gift from God for which we were truly Blessed.
His love and memories will be forever cherished by his wife Laverne; daughter Holly; son-in-law Ray; grandchildren, Nikki, Kristopher, Ray and Courtney; great-grandchildren Matthew and Audrey; sisters, Judy (Earl), Colleen (Walter); brothers, Ernie (Caroline) and Bruce; nephews, Vince, Sheldon, Daniel and Steve, and numerous extended family and friends.
Carl was born and raised in Balsam Bay, Manitoba before serving in the Army from 1957 to 1961. Carl then returned to Grand Marais, Manitoba before moving to Winnipeg where he raised his family. He worked different trades and found his passion for installing pools until he retired.
Papa was always more than willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved animals as much as they loved him.
Papa loved listening and playing country music, enjoying time with family and friends, and watching sports. He gave the best hugs and always showed his love to all.
Papa will be forever loved and treasured by his family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Chowdhury, the Home Palliative Care Team, as well as staff at Riverview for the care and compassion they showed Papa.
Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will follow at a later date.
