ELEANORE "DOREEN" PETERSON
April 30, 1933 – January 30, 2022
Peacefully on Sunday, January 30, 2022 Doreen passed away with family by her side.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Grant (Diane), Cheryl (Frank), and Karen (John), grandchildren, Lindsay (Chad), Christopher, Darcy (Kristy), Kyle (Carmin), Joshua, and Drew, great-grandchildren, Jayda, Benjamin, Felix, Emma, Luke, and Lorelai.
She is also survived by her siblings Irene, Denise, Ron (Darlene), Jane and Judy.
Doreen was predeceased by her parents Jerome and Mary Cnockaert, her husband Robert, siblings Maurice and Margaret and great-grandchild Tanner.
Mom enjoyed time spent with family and friends playing cards, going to bingo and her casino trips with her siblings and daughters.
In earlier years, Mom and Dad spent time at Hilly Lake and Gull Lake. Mom will always be remembered for her famous cabbage rolls and chip dip which she gladly brought to all get togethers.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Health Science Center Unit GA3 who cared for Mom her last days. Your care and hard work during these difficult times was much appreciated by the family. Thank you to all staff at Catherine Place for their assistance in allowing mom to live independently until her passing. We would also like to thank Dr. Mehta P for his many years of care he provided to our mother.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and due to Covid restrictions no service will be held.
A private family interment will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CNIB 1080 Portage Avenue Winnipeg, Manitoba R3G 3M3.
