LORNE JOHN MOORE
Peacefully on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Health Sciences Centre (HSC), Lorne passed away at the age of 81.
He will be missed dearly by his wife of 57 years, Michelle, sisters, Geraldine and Dorene; children, Trevor and Janice (Scott); grandsons, Devin and Lucas; sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
Lorne was born November 26, 1940, in Winnipeg, MB. He grew up on Hill Street in Norwood and attended Nelson McIntyre Collegiate. After graduating from the auto mechanics program at Manitoba Technical Institute he worked at Auto Electric Fort Street. He went on to work at Winnipeg Hydro for 21 years up until his retirement as garage foreman. He was a skilled mechanic that could fix anything with a motor.
He enjoyed going to local car shows and was especially proud of his bright red 1967 Chevy GMC truck. He spent his summer holidays with family and friends at Spruce Sands Trailer Resort. He was a long-time supporter and executive board member of the M.M.J.H.L. St. Vital Victorias. He played many seasons of co-ed slo-pitch and oldtimers hockey. If there was a hockey game on TV, he was guaranteed to be watching it.
Lorne looked forward to the long-standing tradition of breakfast out on Fridays with Michelle and their friends and daily trips to Tim's for coffee with his buddies.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
Thank you to Dr. Ajisebutu and the nursing staff at HSC for their kind and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favourite local charity.

On behalf of the Fredrickson family, I would like to offer our condolences. Lorne was a wonderful person and a very gifted mechanic. He helped our family on many occasions with rebuilding electrical components. He always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humour. - Posted by: Darren Fredrickson (Friend) on: Feb 06, 2022

My thoughts are with you and the family. It brought back memories of Lorne and Charlie at the boy’s hockey games. Cherish all the wonderful memories you have. - Posted by: Pat Leung (Friend) on: Feb 05, 2022
