JAMES (JIM) GILLESPIE

With family by his side, on August 17, 2022, Jimmy passed away just a few days short of his 84th birthday. His last months were a struggle with COPD. He faced it in his own way as he did all things in life.
He was predeceased by his long time partner Sharon and three sisters, Beth, Eleanor and Lola. He is survived by his three brothers, Charlie, Murray (Tor), Gary and four sisters, Joanie (Nowlan), Doris, Gail, Rosalie (Neil) and many nieces and nephews.
Jimmy lived all his life in Dugald. He worked 30 plus years with the CN Railway where he made many lifelong friends. When he couldn't curl anymore he was a regular on the bench at the curling rink to watch anyone he knew throw rocks. He also loved his many years spent at his cabin at Red Rock Lake. He knew everyone and everything Whiteshell.
As per Jimmy's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
To all who knew him, we are sure he would rather you hoist a whiskey and think of him.
Memories and condolences can be left at Jimmy's memorial page at seasonsfunerals.ca

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Jimmy was a fixture behind the glass watching the P&H curling league every Sunday at Springfield rink. He’ll be missed by all. On a personal note, Jimmy and I spent many frigid nights flooding the Dugald ice rink during the 80’s. Of course, we had to thaw out after at Jim’s house after that. Good memories! - Posted by: Garry Cullingham (Friend) on: Sep 05, 2022
