ROBINSON: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Glen Robinson, age 70, of Altona on September 6th, 2022. He is survived by his wife Tan, son Todd (Erika), granddaughters Ella and Olivia, sisters Debbie (John) and Lisa (John). He was predeceased by his parents Tom and Reta and brother Roy. Before beginning his policing career, Glen briefly served from 1972 to 1976 as a Military Storesman at Canadian Forces Base Shilo. Wanting to stay near family, he joined the Brandon Police Service in April of 1976 and remained there until retiring as a Sergeant in February of 1991. Seeking new challenges, Glen then relocated to the town of Altona where he served as Police Chief until he retired (again) in 2010. Never one to rest long, his next 12 years were filled with a variety of employment opportunities in the community, including working the Lumber Desk at Sun Valley Coop which he loved dearly. A private family service will take place at a later date. The family is requesting that donations in memory of Glen may be made to the Pembina Valley Humane Society.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Tan, we are very sorry to hear of Glen's passing. Although we have not seen you guys in years, we think of you guys often. I enjoyed working with Glen at BCP and we shared a lot of laughs during those years, but he was always a great support and a strong mentor at times of stress that the job could bring. His sense of humor was always welcomed and made work seem effortless. He was a very dedicated police officer. It seems like just yesterday that we were curling with you and Glen at Forest at one of the many fun curling events hosted at BCP. Actually we were just looking back at some of the old photos not long ago of the four of us, my we were a young good looking bunch lol. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. - Posted by: Judy & Wayne Whittingham (Friends) on: Sep 22, 2022

  • Tan, May fond memories of Glen bring you comfort during this hard time in your life. We enjoyed each conversation we had with Glen. Whether it was about work or renovations we always had a laugh. Glen always shared his knowledge and was always willing to help. We will miss him. - Posted by: Bruce & Kendra Rodewald (Friends) on: Sep 14, 2022
