With broken hearts we announce Marjorie Hutlet passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on November 30, 2022.
Marjorie was born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba to parents James and Catherine Anderson. Her family consisted of seven siblings: Edgar, Alvin, Harold, Edith, Kathleen, James, June.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Edward Antoine Hutlet (2004). She married her second husband, Keith Roberts Bradley, in 2012.
She is survived by her three children: Kelvin (Nancy) Hutlet, Sherrill (Detlef) Hindemith, and Bryon (Gail) Hutlet; seven grandchildren: Stephanie (Kyle) Akerstream, Jennifer (Eric) Boulet, Mitchell Hutlet, Ryan Hindemith (Josee), Justin Hindemith, James Hutlet, and Julia Hutlet; three great-grandchildren: Wesley, Elyse and Ella Akerstream; two step-children: Jill (Rob) Kirkpatrick, and Amy Brown, and by numerous nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
Marge taught computer, business and adult education courses at Windsor Park Collegiate for 26 years, retiring in 1998. After retirement she taught Accounting for UFCW and CUPE. In 1981, Marge was awarded an International Teaching Fellowship to Australia. This exchange year experience changed Marge and Ed's lives immensely, as they developed a love for travel that continued for the rest of their lives. In 1988 Marge and Ed took a leave from their jobs and travelled around the world for five months, covering much of the globe.
Marge and Ed's children, grandchildren and all their spouses and later great-grandchildren, formed a special place in Marge's life. She loved to host family gatherings, and enjoyed vacations and camping trips with her children and grandchildren. Marge and Keith loved ballroom dancing, computers, and travelling with friends. Keith was Marge's primary caregiver over the last year of her illness. Marge's family is grateful for his care.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road. Eulogy will begin at 10:45 a.m. Reception to follow service. Private family interment at a later time.

We first met Mark and Ed in Australia in 1981. When I had the opportunity to spend an exchange teacher in Winnipeg during 1982, Marj and her family were extremely hospitable. We visited their home often, attended Bryon's wedding and travelled to Le Pas with them. We also spent weekends with them by a lake to the east of Winnipeg. In more recent years they visited us in Australia and we last visited Winnipeg in 2009. We will miss Marj terribly as a dear friend and extend our condolences to Keith and all the family. We are so saddened to hear of Marg’s passing. We were fortunate to meet Marg during her time in Australia, and have stayed friends since. Marg had a wonderful personality, and was often the instigator of many fun times. She will be truly missed. Our love to her family. Mrs Hutlet, was an amazing teacher. She always had a smile on her face. I honestly can never recall her any other way. Her teaching style was more inclusive than some big school was, a few years ago, I remember her fondly. - Posted by: Margaret Watson (Student) on: Dec 05, 2022

Sincere condolences Keith on the great loss of your wife Marge. We are grateful for all the support you gave to Marge and her family throughout her illness. Heartfelt sympathy to her children Kelvin, Sherrill, Bryon, their spouse, children and grandchildren. We are sorry for the loss of your beautiful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. No matter how old you are, it is never easy to lose someone you love. To our Hutlet family, Marge, married to my brother Eddy (deceased 2004) will always be loved and a special part of the Hutlet family. Marge was a thoughtful, talented soul. She was full of life, love and laughter at the 60s basement parties she hosted for family and friends and later at the Hutlet Christmas or Easter dinners she hosted on Monaco Bay. She was a firecracker when it came to fighting for her life. Her loss is felt in hearts across the miles. She left a legacy of love and joyful laughter for those she left behind. There are no words we can say to ease the pain of her passing but as you talk, remember and share stories, may you find that the one you loved so much is still in your hearts. - Posted by: Romeo & Isabelle Choquette (Family) on: Dec 05, 2022

I had the privilege of working with Marge at WPC at the beginning of my career. She was a master teacher and a great mentor. She was also a wonderful friend to many and I was fortunate to be part of the “WPC Gals” group who continued to get together for dinners, laughs and “remember when” stories. Our last dinner in September will always be particularly special. Thoughts and prayers to Keith & her family. ❤️ - Posted by: Sandi Wagner (Friend) on: Dec 03, 2022

Marj was my friend and colleague. I always looked up to her and tried to maintain her teaching standards. She greatly influenced me and I followed her example and did a teaching exchange in Australia. She and Ed visited us there. My sincere condolences to her entire family. You were so very lucky to have her in your lives. - Posted by: Lucille Miller (Friend and colleague) on: Dec 03, 2022

I am so saddened by this news. I will miss Marj at our WPC gatherings. She was someone that I looked up to…her love of adventure and life, her sense of humour, her love for her family…these are just a few of what made her so incredible. I was blessed to know her. 💕 - Posted by: Paula Meyer (Friend) on: Dec 03, 2022
