CLAIRE GRAHAM
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Claire Graham (nee Wall) who passed away on November 28, 2022 in Prince George, BC at the age of 91.
She is survived by her two children: daughter Laura and son Chris, for which they were with her at the end. She was born in North Bay, Ontario to Hiram Wall and Vera Wall (nee Dunn) and was predeceased her cherished husband Bill Graham and her infant son Jimmy.
Claire was raised in North Bay, Ontario where she met and married Bill Graham, a Captain in the R.C.A.F. Together they travelled the world before settling down to have a family. Claire's greatest passion in life was being a loving and supportive Mother to her children for which she was a constant cheerleader to both Laura and Chris in all their endeavours. She was a great hockey Mom, an avid curler and a lover of all sports. Claire was known by all to be very social, always having fun and lighting up the room with her laughter (especially within the walls at St. James Place in Winnipeg). After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering at the Winnipeg Airport and teaching English as a second language. She was also a devout member of PEO for over 50 years and formed many friendships in the Winnipeg Chapter. She was a loving and respected woman, will be dearly missed and always celebrated.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in the name of Claire and Bill Graham, who were both devastated by this terrible disease.

Auntie Claire was classy and fun and full of energy, and as I reflect, she was always willing to participate in everything from playing cards and board games to swimming and boating, no fishing lol, waterskiing, to many walks and bonfires and talks. She could tell great stories of people they met. Reading and music and did I mention she was a great cook! Auntie Claire had a way of bringing people together and she knew how to make you feel special. A gift from her, them, that I will cherish and was given about 35 years ago, is a 4 piece building light-up Christmas village. It comes out every year and I've added to it since and it is now, even more special. She and Uncle Bill played a huge part in my life and I am thankful. Jumping forward a few years, something we did every July long weekend, was a Bocce Tournament at the lake. Auntie Claire started this! Along with my mom, Sandy, and lake friend Lorraine, our families and many, many others. This annual tradition went on for over 25 years, with a theme and potluck and a 'shit-head' hat for the winners, rain renos or shine, we played. And I know, each July we will have a game or two and will say cheers and I am sure these 3 will be gathering everyone to play where they are too. - Posted by: Sherry (Funk) Normandeau (Aunt) on: Jan 06, 2023

Claire was a friend of my Mom’s (Helen Stefura) when they lived in the St. James Lions Estates. My Mom loved to share stories with us, especially if she had someone as interesting as Claire to tell us about! We would watch for her at the airport on our travels, we would hear stories about her kids and their lives (Laura inseminating elephants or something??!!), her charity helped my daughter Emily in her education/athletic endeavors and I used to imagine how nice it must have been for her friends to enjoy the lobster feast she would bring in every year from the East coast. My sincere condolences. - Posted by: Faye Wankling (Friend of my Mom's) on: Dec 13, 2022

Well this is a hard I was her nephew Bill was my mothers brother and I was lucky enough to have many cherished times with both in a very real way uncle bill was a father to me and Claire a second mom after my own mom Joan passed when I was 20 just before I married the first time. All the memories from the cabin playing trivial pursuit and crib and just all the great fun laughter and hugs, I will never forget those times with loved and cherished family. To Laura and Chris I'm so sorry for your loss she was a great aunt great mom figure to me and I will miss her presence and soul in the world. The world is a dimmer place without your mom in it. All my love and prayers Paul - Posted by: Paul Wigston (Aunt) on: Dec 10, 2022

Saddened to hear this news. Claire & I shared many interesting conversations over lunch/coffee whenever we volunteered on the same shift. She was a lovely person with a positivity which was ongoing. I think she truly enjoyed her time as a goldwing & I was happy to have known her! My condolences. Karen Skinner - Posted by: Karen skinner (Volunteer co-worker) on: Dec 10, 2022
