MARGUERITE LORRAINE OLSON
1928 - 2022
After a life well lived, Marguerite passed away peacefully at the age of 94 at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home on November 3, 2022, with her daughter by her side.
She will be loving remembered and sadly missed by her children: Brian (Pat), Maureen (Louise) and Ted (Flo). Her legacy will live on in her grandchildren: Eric, Kurt, Pamela and Alex as well as great-grandchildren: Delaney, Creighan, Brenner, Callia and Knox.
Marguerite was predeceased by her parents, William and Julia Anderson and her husband Ervin Olson.
Mom was a strong and independent woman, embodying the values of community, stewardship and faith. She was a very proud resident of Keewatin, Ontario. She was a dedicated member of St. Andrew's United Church serving with the Board, the Sunday School, the Choir and anything else that needed doing. She was a proud member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13 and of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mom's great passions were her home and family. She was an excellent cook and baker, mastering many different recipes, except for fudge. She loved to sit quietly and enjoy the nature around her beautiful home and garden, which she tended meticulously.
Cremation has taken place. The family will gather in Keewatin this coming summer for a service and interment at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the "darlings" at St. Norbert Personal Care Home for their care, compassion and laughter.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a food bank as Mom was all about caring for those in need.
"Well done, good and faithful servant!"

Maureen, so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. Have missed seeing her and chatting since she moved to Winnipeg. She was such a "regal" lady! She always had a story about my Mom to tell me. My sincere condolences to you and your family. - Posted by: Pamela Jane Osborne-Brett (Friend) on: Dec 14, 2022

Brian et al: So very sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved mom Marguerite. I worked at Dr. Workman's office when Darlene Thomson (nee Redden) was helping out with your mom. I was a Drew from Lakeside and I remember my sister Fran being in your Grade 9 class at Lakewood (9R in 1966 black yearbook). Darlene was also in school with us too. Sending heartfelt condolences from Fran and I. - Posted by: Marjorie Zimmer (other) on: Dec 13, 2022
