PETER FREDERICK DAVIDSON
January 21, 1921 – November 8, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Peter (Uncle Pete) Frederick Davidson announce his passing on November 8, 2022 at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home.
Uncle Pete was born on his family farm in Oakview, MB on January 21, 1921 where he continued to live for 84 years. On December 28, 1948 he married Anna and they farmed together, first with his Dad, and after his Dad's passing, they continued to operate the farm together until Anna's passing in 1998.
Uncle Pete was fortunate to hire a young man named Raymond Pelletier to help around the farm. Raymond turned out to be a loyal and hard working employee and they became lifelong friends.
Peter and Anna were a very caring and generous couple. They didn't have any children, but were very supportive of all of their numerous nieces and nephews.
Uncle Pete was always willing to share his knowledge and provide guidance to his neighbours and friends. He was a skilled welder and if anybody needed machinery fixed, he was the go to guy. He was a very imaginative man and was able to invent equipment just by having someone describe what they needed.
Peter and Anna enjoyed their many trips to Las Vegas with family and friends, as well as their bus trips to Alaska and the East Coast. Anna passed away after 49 years of marriage.
7 years later, Uncle Pete sold his farm and moved to Ashern. His friend Hilda Miller moved in with him until she became ill and moved into the Ashern Care Home. Uncle Pete continued ice fishing in the winter and in the summer he tended to his garden and was able to spend more time golfing.
He sold his house in Ashern in June 2019 and moved into the Pioneer Manor. A few months after moving into the Manor he fell and broke his hip. He continued to live at the Manor with the help of Homecare Workers until it was no longer safe for him to live independently. Thank you to the Homecare workers for the dedicated care they provided.
Uncle Pete's last move was April 2021 when he moved into the Eriksdale PCH. Thank you to all of the staff for the wonderful care they provided.
Special thanks to Larry Williamson for his friendship and for all of his visits to the Manor, Hospital and Care Home.
Uncle Pete experienced first hand the need for the Ashern PCH to expand their capacity and as a result, he has generously bequeathed his entire estate to the Ashern PCH.
As per Peter's request a private graveside service will be held in the spring.
