MARY ANN GUZ
June 7, 1954 - November 15, 2022
With great sadness and love, the family of Mary Ann Guz announce her passing on November 15, 2022, at the age of 68.
Mary Ann cherished her family, friends, and the New York Times Saturday crossword.
Growing up, her family lived in Winnipeg's North End where she made many of her lifelong friendships. Born in Winnipeg in 1954, Mary Ann's first language was Ukrainian. She became an accomplished pianist and vocalist early on, performing in musicals throughout high school and later at Rainbow Stage.
In the summer of 1975, while working towards her Bachelor of Education at the University of Manitoba, she met Bob Chalaturnyk at a beach party on Hecla Island. They were engaged within two weeks and married the following summer, continuing on to build a life, family, and business together over 46 years.
An avid reader with an eye for beauty, she instilled her appreciation for education and the arts in her children. Mary Ann was the core of her family, doing everything she could to ensure her loved ones were taken care of. Her vibrance, depth, and sense of humour will be missed.
She is survived by her loving husband Bob; her sons, Andrew (Selena), Matthew, and Robert (Cheryl); and grandchildren, Lorelai and Edwin.
Mary Ann had limitless kindness and always thought of others before herself. Her gentle strength will live on in her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
