Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • My name is Dan Lawrence but Shawn and family would know me as Danny. It’s December 26/24 and I just ran into Bill, Shawn’s brother. I had no idea of Shawn’s passing and my heartfelt condolences goes out to Shawn’s family! I grew up and played many years of hockey with Shawn. He was a player with intensity and someone not to try to push around on the ice! My heart sunk and all the childhood memories came back to me in droves! He was a very kind person with a loving heart! I will cherish those memories forever! Shawn, get the ice ready! When we meet again I’ll strap on the pads and we’ll go one on one once again! Only love in my heart for you my friend!! - Posted by: Dan lawrence (Friend ) on: Dec 26, 2024

  • I also use to work with Shawn for many years. He was easy to talk to and had lots of stories to tell. He really loved his family and he made that very clear. He liked when I would offer him some of the food I baked or cooked and I don't think I remember one time he declined...I was known my some of my co-workers for my goodies. I often sat a cross from him and listened to his pitches-he gave it his all and made sure by the end of the day his name was up on the board (my co-workers will get what I am saying) Fly High my friend you will be missed . I will always have the memories -too many to share ..and they are mine to keep. May God bless you while you sleep/ amen - Posted by: Kathy Lavallee (Friend /co-worker) on: Jan 09, 2023

  • I worked with Shawn for several years now, and my heart goes out to his family. He talks so proud of being a grandpa. He was always so kind and caring towards people. He made a lot of friends at work and will be missed dearly in the office. Rest In Peace Shawny Mac - Posted by: Lindsay (Coworker) on: Dec 30, 2022

  • I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Shawn for years, he was a character at best if times, and always carried a smile on his face and that belly laugh you could hear across the room. He was a passionate man, who loved fundraising for charity and bragging about his beloved daughter. A cheers to you old friend, the stories and memories will always be cherished. Condolences to the Mclaughlin family and friends. - Posted by: Big mac (Coworker) on: Dec 30, 2022

  • Conner your dad was always so proud of you. I wish I could take away the sorrow for you. Ken and family, Shawn was lucky to have been loved by you all. For his beautiful girl and his family…Remember the laughter, crazy antics and happiness he brought to you all. Laugh over the things that made you shake your head and roll your eyes. There was a heck of a lot of those and other memories to cherish and share with everyone. I wish you all the best at this time. Love always, Anjie - Posted by: Anjela Buus (Connley’s aunt) on: Dec 22, 2022

  • Uncle Shawn had an amazing heart. Some of my favourite times growing up (especially around the holidays) were debates about why the Leafs might or might not win the cup that year (they never did), or who the best prospects were on the World Junior team. As a very shy kid, I was always comfortable opening up with Shawn. He had this incredible energy that just made you want to be his friend, and an ability to make you feel like you were the most important person in the world when you were talking to him. He treated everybody with love and respect and although I haven’t seen him as much as I would have liked in recent years, I will miss him. Thinking of you Connley, Auntie Michelle and Grandpa. Sending virtual hugs. - Posted by: Brent Wolfe (Nephew) on: Dec 22, 2022
