RUSSELL JAMES FITZHENRY
Sadly, we announce the sudden passing of Russell James Fitzhenry, December 14, 2022, at the age of 91 years old.
Russ was predeceased by his daughter, Lynn (2015) and great-grandson, Gavin (2010). He will be dearly missed by his wife of 69 years, Greta, and his children, Myles (Bev), Cindy (Al), Shawn; grandchildren, Lisa (Dan), Les (Donna), Aaren (Kevin), Morgan (Samantha), Justin, Brett, Danielle, Cassidy (Dryden) and Paige, as well as great-grandchildren, Shane, Nova and Marlowe.
After a 25 year career in the military, Russ worked as a Federal Correctional Officer at Stoney Mountain Institution retiring (1997). After many years of public service, he was able to truly enjoy retirement which included memorable trips to the East coast of Canada, Hawaii, Jamaica, Mexico, Florida and California.
In recent years, even with limited mobility he was able to remain in his family home as he wished. He was an avid sports fan who seldom missed a Winnipeg Jets or Bombers game. He appreciated all those around him who contributed to his well being and had a strong will to live.
Cremation has taken place and at his request there will be no formal service.
