WILFRED EDWARD CHISWELL
(TED)

Passed away peacefully on December 16, 2022, at 92.
Ted was a loving husband to Kathleen (Kay) for 69 years, a proud father to Barbara Bennett, Nancy Kerr (Charles), Joan House (Rick), David Chiswell(Anne Marie), Glen Chiswell (Judy)and an affectionate grandfatherto 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Ted was a devoted family man, innovator, and comedic storyteller with a sincere passion for life. He was a self-taught carpenter, a Welsh pony enthusiast and judge, a golfer, an avid football fan, and often regarded as fair, honourable and genuine.
Motivated and headstrong, Ted excelled in his career as a Chartered Accountant for over 40 years. Eventually, he became a trusted advisor and charitable mentor to universities and associations throughout Manitoba, BC and across the world. Those stories were some of his best.
Ted will be deeply missed for his love, kindness and support and for the significant impact he had on each member of his large family and the many long-lasting friendships he cherished.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Kay and family, We enjoyed seeing Ted and Kay on their visits to Houston, Texas. We have fond memories of Ted. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers! Much love, Robin Chiswell - Posted by: Robin Chiswell (Relative) on: Jan 31, 2023

  • Ted had lessons and wisdom for his loved ones and always delivered them with his great wit, humor and charm but also he always made sure we caught the important part of the lesson. This I think was his gift and his way of showing how much he cared about your life and loved you. For me Ted, I couldn’t have asked for more in a father-in-law. You were always kind to me no matter what. You were always there for me and the kids when Dave had to travel. One of my favorite memories of you was at your niece's wedding in that beautiful barn and all the people that were there. Hundreds! It was your laugh and jokes with your generation’s male family members that were the life of the party. My love to each and everyone of the Chiswell family. Most especially Kay. You Kay, and Ted created a wonderful family together that will always be a part of my heart. Ted I will never look at a hammer without thinking of you coming to collect yours that Dave somehow forgot to return to you. God Bless you Ted and may God comfort all the Chiswell’s who will be missing you. - Posted by: Sherry Chiswell (Daughter-in-law of 25 years. Met Ted when I was 16 years old.old.) on: Jan 12, 2023

  • Deb and I send our love and sympathy to Kay and family for the loss of Ted. The Chiswell’s moved next door in Headingley and through the horse world we started a long friendship. A few years later I joined Ted at Marr’s Marine and we have stayed friends ever since. Many a great laugh we enjoyed.
