HEATHER MACLEOD

Our hearts are empty and full at the same time as we say goodbye to our wonderful wife, mom and grandma, Heather MacLeod (nee Macdonald) born November 3, 1940.
Heather was a fun and vivacious person, and you couldnt help but admire her quick wit and radiant smile. She loved watching sports, especially the Winnipeg Jets. Once upon a time she knew more NHL hockey stats than Google. Smart and computer savvy, Heather learned Spanish later in life to use on her many trips to Mexico. She stayed active with aquacise and worked as an X-Ray technician well into her 70s. She had a green thumb and a heart of gold.
Heather was an amazing grandma who loved being a part of her grandchildren's lives, making them feel loved and special even if far away. She enjoyed attending many events and celebrations with her Winnipeg family.
Survived by husband Blair; daughters, Tracey MacLeod (Eldon Sebelius), Janet Gurtler (Larry); and her son Kyle MacLeod (Sharon Doig). Heather was predeceased by son Ian MacLeod in 2015, her brother David Macdonald in 2007, and her parents. She leaves six grandchildren, Ciara (Alex Favreau), Carly and Marcede, Max, Owen and Kara.
Heather was born in Winnipeg, attending St. James Collegiate, graduating from U of W Collegiate and then trained as an X-Ray Tech at Winnipeg General Hospital. After making homes in various Canadian cities, she and Blair eventually returned to their hometown of Winnipeg. Heather loved the lake, and they enjoyed many good times on the deck or around a campfire at their cottage at Buffalo Point.
Heather was a beautiful soul, and she will be missed, however, she also leaves an abundance of heartfelt memories to cherish. All who met Heather experienced some of her magic.
Special thanks to Trish, Janet, Dana and all members of the palliative care team for their support.
Interment and Reception will be held on January 20 at 2:00 p.m., Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.

Rest in Peace now, your pain
and suffering are finally over.
Love you forever.
