FREDERICK (FRED) MOED
November 12, 1924 - December 26, 2022
Fred Moed, 98, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022 at Colonel Belcher Veterans Care in Calgary, AB.
Fred was in the Royal Canadian Artillery serving in Canada, United Kingdom and Central Mediterranean area in the Second World War, returning to Canada in April of 1946. Fred married Julia (Normand) Moed on April 24, 1954. They raised four sons Frank, Harry, David and Paul. Fred was married to his wife Julia for over 65 years until her passing in February of 2020. He is survived by his son Harry (Susan) Moed, David (Janice Keddie) Moed, sister Kay Heubert and many nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his father, John Moed, mother Winnifred (Ridley) Moed; sons Frank Moed in 1973 and Paul Moed in 2016. Fred enjoyed his time with family and serving the Lord. His favorite Psalm was the Twenty Third Psalm: The Lord is My Shepherd; which was also his mother's favorite Psalm.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers and staff at Colonel Belcher Veterans Care for their amazing care and patience with Fred. There will be a small service for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Salvation Army or the Veterans Food Bank of Calgary.
