LORRAINE PROCTER
(nee MATHEWS)
December 23, 1937 - December 27, 2022
Sadly, we announce Lorraine Procter passed away peacefully at Selkirk and District General Hospital, with family by her side.
Mom was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Stewart Procter; her parents, Dora and Siggi Mathews; brothers, Mindy and Hughie; and sisters, Norma and Bernice.
She is survived by son Kurt, daughter Katherine Leanne, daughter Tara-Lee Maciuszonek (Artur), and sister-in-law Enid Thompson (Walt) and family of Hawaii. She also adored her grandchildren, Alyssa, Kael, Malia and Mateusz.
Mom grew up in Oak Point, MB and completed secretarial training. She worked for Manitoba Telephone System and for Black and Decker before she met and married Stewart and moved to Woodlands, where she resided for most of her adult life. She enjoyed gardening, antiques, refinishing and re-upholstering furniture, and visiting with family and friends. She loved her flower and vegetable gardens, canning vegetables and making jam so we would be fully stocked all winter.
Sincere thanks to all the staff of Betel Home in Selkirk for their kindness and loving care for Mom during her stay. We would also like to thank the staff at Selkirk Hospital and everyone who provided care for our Mother along the way.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held in the spring as per Mom's wishes.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.

Sending condolences to Kurt and family on the passing of “mom” My career has taken me away from the area but times like this regenerate great memories. - Posted by: Monica Buhay (Gallant) (School Friend) on: Jan 29, 2023

So sorry for your loss. Lots of fond memories of Lorraine! Visits and many card games with my parents, she was our Brownie, and Girl Guide Leader always had a craft project on the go and a table full of Canasta card game paused until next time. I remember the family camp trip Lorraine and Stewart came on with us, she brought crafts for my boys and nieces to have fun with. We enjoyed many happy times with Lorraine & Stewart through the years. Such as their 25th wedding celebration, where everyone from young to seniors ate and danced the night away - driving to Woodlands to pick up a refurbished item or our winter supply of poultry (and having a good visit into the bargain). Her energy and enthusiasm were boundless. Our condolences to Lorraine’s family. Love Cam & Jeri Breckman - Posted by: Cameron and Jeri Breckman (Cousin ) on: Dec 31, 2022
