DR. ROBERT (ROBIN) KRAUSE
Robin died peacefully at home in Victoria, BC on December 6, 2022 at 97 years.
Born in the Kingdom of Fife, Scotland, Robin graduated from Edinburgh University in 1947 and became a family doctor extraordinaire. He practiced medicine in the UK and Winnipeg until his retirement in 1992. Robin's kind and compassionate nature focused on the person in the patient. His multiple achievements and contributions to family medicine include developing the Human Values curriculum for the undergraduate program at the University of Manitoba. Robin was the Canadian Family Physician of the Year in 1981 and National President of the College of Family Physicians in 1982. In 1992, he received the Canadian Medical Association Distinguished Service Award for Manitoba. Upon retirement, Robin volunteered extensively; Our Place was especially significant. Robin's gentle character and dry wit will be missed enormously.
Predeceased by his wife Enid and sister Christine and survived by his three children, Susan, Gillian and Robin; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and nine step- great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Victoria, Spring 2023. A gathering will be held at 72 Kingsway, Winnipeg, Spring 2023. RSVP at a later date.

Dr. Krause was indeed a wonderful, kind and caring doctor. He was our doctor when my wife and I were married and Dr. Krause delivered our first son. Our son battled asthma and it was not a few times that Dr. Krause had come to our house to check on him when he was having trouble. Dr. Krause performed his job above and beyond the call of duty. For Gillian - Your father helped me recover from a serious spinal injury. I have been forever grateful. As the obituary says…he was kind and listened. Dr. Krause was my physician for many years and delivered three of my four children. He was exceedingly kind and patient with me and always took the time to explain procedures and listen to my concerns.
