FRED PACHAL
December 2, 1925 - December 25, 2022
Frederick Jacob Pachal passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 25, 2022, in Winnipeg, MB.
Fred was predeceased by his wife Mona. He leaves behind to mourn his children, Derek (Erica), Linda (Rick), grandchildren, Travis (Melanie), Brendan (Corissa), Riley (Sarah), Lindsay (Kevin) and great- grandchildren, Kaden, Ella, Blaze and Carter.
Fred was born December 2, 1925 near Kipling, SK. After leaving the farm for Winnipeg he worked as a master carpenter and built his own homes, a cottage and so many beautiful pieces of furniture.
In retirement he spent hours in his workshop, took up photography, running and making wine. He and Mom loved their time at the cottage, tending to the huge garden and enjoying it with family and friends.
Dad lived his life with positivity and in his declining years would proclaim "I've had a good life."
Thank you to all the staff at Oakview Place for their care and compassion.
A private service and interment will be held in the spring.

Fred and Mona were great neighbors; babysitting Kimik earlier in life to making chokecherry wine in layers years; loved the laughter and basketball with Derek and making bread with Mona ; they were giving neighbors and definitely community minded. - Posted by: Diane Meek (Neighbor) on: Sep 30, 2025

How lucky all of us Nightingale folks were to have Mr. and Mrs. Pachal as neighbours! Mrs. Pachal had a smile that could light up a room and was always so generous with the bounty from the garden. Mr. Pachal not only finished my parent's basement with his incredible talent back in the day but he also was quick to share his wine at block parties. His dedication to running and positive spirit was an inspiration to live life to the fullest. It was an honour to grow up a few doors down from the Pachals. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Tara Pratt (Neighbour) on: Jan 10, 2023

My sister and I met and got to know Fred at the gym. We always stopped and had a conversation with Fred, where we learned about how he met and courted Mona; he spoke of his job at the lumberyard where he soon rose to be supervisor, and spoke of Mona with much love and devotion. From all our conversations it was easy to see that he was a good and honest man! - Posted by: Terri Squires (Acquaintance ) on: Jan 07, 2023
