WILLIAM EDWARD BEGGS

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of William "Bill" Edward Beggs of Winnipeg on February 3, 2023, at the age of 85 years.
Predeceased by his loving mother Minnie, and father Ernie.
Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Lorraine; children: Michelle, Mark (Gail), Mike (Lori); grandchildren: Jordan (Vicki), Schaela, Jessie, Amber, and Brooklyn; sister, Shannon (Murray), brother, Bari (Helen), sister, Janice (Shirl), brother, Austin (Laura); as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Bill was born in Saskatoon on November 8, 1937. Leaving home in his late teens, he travelled the country doing odd jobs, until joining the Air Force and finding employment at Greenwood Air Base in Nova Scotia as an Aero-tech, later graduating from Acadia University with his BSC. He met and married Lorraine in 1962; finding employment with Federal Fisheries in 1965; Bill, Lorraine, and the family moved to Winnipeg in 1969, where he continued his career with the Federal Fisheries and Oceans as Chief of Laboratories and later promoted to Director of Management Services (30 Years).
Known for his great sense of humour and love of golf, Bill's quick wit and ever-changing questionable golf swing will be remembered fondly by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date (summer 2023).
Memorial donations may be made in Bill Beggs' name to Alzheimer Society Of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2; CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or Parkinson Canada - Winnipeg office, 414 Westmount Dr. #7, Winnipeg, MB R2J 1P2.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the River Park Gardens and Cropo Funeral Chapel for their care and compassion.
