  • Don had the kindest soul. He was such a gem. He had a way of making you feel special. He was a total sweetheart! I went to look up his phone number and found this instead. I’m so sorry for your incredible, immense loss. Till we meet again. ✌️❤️💪🏽 - Posted by: Jacki Friesen (Friend) on: Mar 05, 2025

  • It’s with a heavy heart we read of the passing of Don. He was truly instrumental in building up our Son's self-esteem during his hockey years. Such a positive and fair soul. I remember Candice at an early age at the Arena with her Dad being his sidekick. Brought us to chuckles when she would cheer for the team and then cheer for her Dad “the coach” …that’s true love. Our deepest condolences to the entire Family during this dark time. RIP Don - Posted by: Janet & Jack Taylor (Hockey Community) on: Feb 27, 2023

  • My sincerest condolences to Candice and her Family. Mr. Feakes was my Soccer coach and was a fair and really fun Coach. Loved being invited back to the house for hot dogs and soda after our games! He had a way of making you feel you were the number #1 player of the game even when you weren’t. Rest in Peace Mr. Feakes. We will all be looking for you on the other side. ❤️ - Posted by: Janet Ziegler (Neighborhood friend ) on: Feb 27, 2023

  • My brother Don saved my life , when I was a baby. I stopped breathing ,and he picked me up and took me outside . The cold winter air, shocked me, and I started breathing again, Or so the story goes . Needless to say, I am great full and told him so . Will miss our times at the lake and hearing him singing . He taught me a lot, and will miss him greatly ! - Posted by: Debbie Feakes (Sister) on: Feb 26, 2023

  • We are very saddened to hear of Don’s passing. Don was old school. Take care and love your kids and wife, be competent in your work and honest in your living. Smile though your heart may be breaking. Treat others as you’d like to be treated be they children or adults, paupers or kings. Be fair with yourself and others. One time he was asked to consider a plastering job at the Burton Cummings theatre. Earlier the contractor had hired a journeyman plasterer as he was unable to find a local one with the required skills and experience. Later he learned about Don and asked him to consider taking on the job. Don checked out the job, observed the skill and workmanship of the other plasterer and told the contractor he didn’t want the job. The man they hired was doing excellent work at a decent pace. It was always a delight to see him. A true friend. We regret not seeing him as much over the last few years. Our condolences to you Candice and Mitch, who Don was so proud of and you Barb and Lindsey. - Posted by: Dan and Blanche Bigelow (Friends) on: Feb 26, 2023

  • My heart aches for the entire family. Don was much loved and respected. I have such great memories of him from Gimli with Moe, from having coffee and long chats to watching the Bombers on tv. From his great laugh and sense of humor to his love of animals! To his respect for women and incredible work ethic. A loving man of integrity and excellence. Greatly missed, forever remembered. - Posted by: Veronique Fortier (Friend) on: Feb 25, 2023

  • my uncle don was amazing, and incredibly funny. one thing i will always remember about him, is the times in Gimili at our campers. He hated when it would rain while he was at his trailer, and i remember him yelling at the top of his lungs while standing on his deck, “stupid Gimili”, after it had just stormed. i think he was just upset cause the storm knocked his cable out and he couldn’t watch the Bomber game. im still so shocked about his passing, it doesn’t feel real. he will be missed greatly. - Posted by: Jett Zinck (uncle) on: Feb 25, 2023

  • I remember Mr.Feakes as my soccer coach. He was a wonderful Coach and mentor to us all. I remember being envious that Candice got to call him “Dad” instead of Coach.
