GERALDINE FALLIS

Geraldine Fallis passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the age of 73 after a brief hospitalization and a lengthy battle with cancer.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Robert; daughters, Jennifer and Kristen (Scott); and granddaughter Anna. Geraldine was predeceased by her brother Taras Sokolyk; and her parents, Michael and Anne Sokolyk.
Geraldine was born on March 6, 1949 and grew up in Dominion City, MB. She married Robert in 1970 and spent a happy 52 plus years with him. She taught for many years in Winnipeg School Division and was a gifted Elementary teacher. She loved working with young learners and inspiring them to succeed. Upon retirement, you could find Geri in the garden or kitchen. She loved to experiment with recipes and her backyard was her playground.
The most important part of her life was her family, particularly her grand-daughter, Anna. Geri would do anything for her family and was the most kind and giving person. Mom was always there to give advice and help in any way. Gramma always looked forward to Anna's visits, taking her on excursions, and baking in the kitchen.

We will all miss you forever.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • My deepest sympathy to Geraldine and the Fallis Family, Geraldine was my older cousin. My dad and Mon traveled from Toronto, ON for family visits. My dad Michael Smook was Anne Sokolyk's younger brother. The memory I have of Geraldine was the wedding I attended with mom and dad. The few times we visited I remember Geraldine attending the family store. These memories I will always cherish - Posted by: Ron Smook (Cousin) on: Sep 21, 2024

  • Geri and I were teacher colleagues at JB Mitchell School for many years. Her classroom was welcoming and lively and filled with love, laughter and an obvious appetite for learning. She will be remembered by many children as their first, perhaps favourite teacher. I offer my deepest condolences to Geri’s family and friends. - Posted by: Janet Sampson (Colleague) on: Mar 04, 2023
