ARCHIE TESSIER

The family of Archie Joseph Tessier announce his passing at Deer Lodge Centre on May 25, 2023, at the age of 84 years.
Left to mourn are his wife of 29 years, Valerie (stepson Bill Zenert) and Archie's children, Brenda Mestagh, Debra, Terry (Jennifer), Keith, Jamie and Daryl; sisters, Evelyn Gladback and Dian Fulford (Kerry); brothers, Lawrence (Cecile), Eugene (Vivian), Dennis, Greg and Brian (Darlene); numerous grand, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Aurice; his brothers Norman, Leo and Wayne (Donna) and grandson Joey.
Archie was born in Broadvalley, MB on May 15, 1939. Leaving the farm at 16 years old to find work in Winnipeg, he found a career as a Tin Smith at CNR.
Archie raised his family in the Hazelridge area on a small farm.
He was a guys guy who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and the likes. Archie pitched softball and curled in his younger years. In his retirement 'Alpine Archie' took on downhill skiing and started to travel with Val until his stroke in March of 2010.
Archie was a talented carpenter and built the home his family lived in. Familiar with plumbing, electrical and mechanics there wasn't much he couldn't do.
The family thanks the wonderful and compassionate staff at both Bethania Personal Care Home (10 years) and Deer Lodge (one and a half years) where he was transferred as his needs grew.
Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
A Celebration of Life to follow at a later date.

Free, free at last. Rest in peace Archiekins!

  • Val, so sorry for your loss...thinking of you during these hard times... - Posted by: Deborah Dworan (Friend) on: Jun 05, 2023

  • I remember way back Val when you took me out golfing so you would look really good as you collected pars and I hunted for my balls! I caused us to be so slow that two gentleman caught up and we enjoyed a fun chat. That chat led to you and Archie falling in love. Archie was very social. He was easy to talk with. When I visited them at their house in the country Archie was busy on some project, out golfing or hunting or meeting up with his buddies, planning where to go skiing, enjoying going to Bomber games!!! His health changed a lot of Archie’s choices. Peace now for Archie♥️🙏🏻♥️ Prayers of condolences to his family🙏🏻 - Posted by: Mona Turcotte (Friend) on: Jun 03, 2023
