Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE REENDERS
George Reenders passed quietly on August 12, 2023.
He valued nature and was kind to people, animals and the earth until the end. He believed we are all here to make the world a better place, and he did. He fed thousands over his decades of growing organic vegetables, connecting people to their food source. He was pragmatic about the circle of life and felt comfortable that he had lived a full life at age 90.
George requested no memorial service; flowers or donations are gratefully declined.

I remember Mr. R. well, he was truly a man who enjoyed farming. I remember going to the family farm that was where Costco is now to pick potatoes. - Posted by: Tim Wyenberg (Student I) on: Aug 17, 2023

Mr Reenders was a great teacher. He would always assign a large research project during the spring/early summer as he was busy with Floodway Gardens. (We didn’t enjoy this but understood the reason. He had a good sense of humour & was a kind man. - Posted by: Wilma Geschiere (My teacher) on: Aug 17, 2023

My sincere heartfelt condolences to George’s wife, his son Roland and wife Joan and their family, to his daughters. George was very passionate about the garden that he grew for many years. He fed a lot of people with the u pick over the 40 plus years. George may your soul rest now in peace and know how appreciated you were in starting FLOODWAY Gardens and having your son follow in your footsteps! You were very good at what you started. Thank you! Rest In Peace George! - Posted by: Judy Shkolny (Customer and friend from FLOODWAY Gardens) on: Aug 17, 2023
