SHIRLEY ADELINE SCHULZ
Shirley Adeline Schulz, 77, passed away on September 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving daughters.
Shirley was born August 10, 1946, in Winnipeg, Manitoba to William and Adeline Reitmeier. She grew up in Winnipeg with her four brothers: Ron, Harvey, Alan, and Carl. Shirley enjoyed playing softball and curling and spending time with people that were to become her life-long friends.
In 1968, Shirley met Sieghard, the love of her life. For him, it was love at first sight and for her it took a little longer but after six weeks of courtship, they were engaged. They wed in April 1969 and went on to have two children: Cindy and Kari.
Shirley worked for many years at the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation and retired in 2006. She spent retirement doing the things she loved most: being with her granddaughters Jessica and Simone, travelling, baking, and spending time with friends.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband Siggi, parents William and Adeline, and brothers Ron and Harvey. She is survived by her daughters Cindy and Kari (Loren), as well as her granddaughters Jessica and Simone, brothers Alan (Diane) and Carl (Donna), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley was devoted to her family. She derived much pleasure from coaching her daughters in softball, hosting Christmas lunches for the past 38 years for the Reitmeier clan, and baking treats for her granddaughters. She had an enormous heart, wonderful sense of humour, contagious laugh, and captivating smile. She was supportive, nurturing, and generous – the best mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be forever missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honour her memory. The family would like to thank the Grace Hospice for the wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of their choice.

Such a sad loss especially for her 2 Daughters, siblings and all their families. My Mom, Sister & I visited Shirley July 23rd at St. B....she looked good, had a long chat & nice visit with her. Her spirits were good and never complained about her diagnosis....she truly was a trooper. I'm glad I took photos of Shirley when we visited....She & I were 1st cousins & only 4 months apart & kept in touch over the years. I am truly happy she's now resting in peace alongside her late beloved husband Siggy ...May they both RIP for now & forever & always....Love to all....Mona - Posted by: Mona DeMeyer (1st cousin on the Reitmeier side....) on: Sep 30, 2023
