BEGONIA LOWRIE

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Bea who left us peacefully in her own home Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

Bea was predeceased by her sister Graciella, Mother Isabel and father Aurelio. Left to cherish her memory are her nephews Derrick and Travis, Nieces Lindsay and Emily, sisters-in-law JoAnn (Bert), Lynn (Chuck) and countless family members in Spain and United States and many friends who she has known and cared for throughout the years.

Begonia was born in the beautiful coastal city of San Sebastian, Spain. She moved to Canada with her family in 1968 at the age of eight. She lived and went to school in the Unicity area. Her first job was at MacDonalds where she met a lifelong friend in Lisette. When her little sister and friend showed up at Bea’s work, she would always sneak a burger or two out the back door. She spent many years working in office administration where she truly was Queen Bea!

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • A year has passed already and the emotion surrounding Bea’s passing has changed. From sharp and hurtful in missing her to a sad spot in our heart, for now. Re reading the kind words of her friends, co workers and relatives reminded me of her hearty laugh her wide and happy smile. She was a very bright spot in our family and is sorely missed. Many times I’ve wished for her to be with us, at the table, the couch, the yard all the good times we have had together, but we still wish for more. ❤️ - Posted by: JoAnn and Bert Sexsmith (Sister in law and Brother in law) on: Oct 10, 2024

  • Bea was our 20 plus years loyal nails client and special friend. She was a super friendly, happy positive client who always had a bubbly fun contagious personality. She came regularly every month and always sported her signature red square nails and sometimes switched over to royal blue. She always lit up our salon with laughter, jokes and updates as to what’s going on in the world and the scoops of what’s going on in building and management. She was kind and caring and had a big heart. She went out of her way to buy me some cream for my eczema on my neck and swung by on a rainy day to give it to me. She would come by and check to see if there were improvements. She was such a sweet angel. We are sad by the news of her passing. Our family will pray for her and her family. Bea thank you for being such a sweet client. We miss you. ❤️Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Leanne (Nail care provider ) on: Oct 15, 2023

  • When I met Bea, we clicked. She was loud and proud of who she was. We both always spoke what was on our minds and that made the connection. She loved to make fun and bug my brother Rob. We would always when together bug poor Rob. We would kill ourselve’s laughing. Boy her laugh would fill a room, a beautiful laugh and a beautiful person. I’m going to miss our 1-2 hour chats on the phone. Rest in peace beautiful lady. Love to your friends and family. You will be missed. - Posted by: Cherie Knecht (Long time friend) on: Oct 14, 2023
