FRIEDA CHARLOTTE HENNEY

(nee ERBACH)

April 26, 1931 - October 15, 2023

On October 15, with her children by her side, Frieda passed away peacefully after a short illness in Luther Home.

She leaves to mourn her son Dennis and daughter Roseann (Farmer); grandchildren, Patrick (Tina Johnas), Charlie, and Tricia (Stephen) Burt; four great-grandchildren, Oden, Cheyenne, Grace and Sophia and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Sid, mother Anna, father Christopher, sister Ida, brothers, Robert, Rudy, and Adolf and son-in-law Dan Teplyski.

Frieda has had a handful of jobs over the years including working at Nutty Club, a local laundromat and Eaton’s but none were as fulfilling as the one of being a stay at home mother raising her two children and later three grandchildren. Frieda was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church for many years where she met the love of her life, Sid. After walking him home from church for a year, Sid decided that it was his turn to walk her home. They became a couple soon after and later married on June 9, 1956. The church was a big part of who she was, and she loved teaching Sunday school classes. Frieda would spend her free time baking treats to share with friends whom she and Sid would visit, watching her afternoon soap operas, or reading the newspaper. One of the fondest memories of Frieda’s grandchildren is their afternoon walks down to the dollar store or the Millennium Library downtown.

Viewing will be at 12:00 noon and a funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut St.

The family would like to thank the staff at Luther Home for their care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Smile, Children's Hospital or Luther Village.
