It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur James Holmberg, of Brandon, MB, who peacefully left this world on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the age of 87 years, at Fairview Personal Care Home, Brandon, MB. Arthur, fondly known as “Art,” was formerly a resident of Ninette, MB.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, his son, Jim (Jeanne) of Carman, MB, and daughter, Laurie Holmberg of Coquitlam, BC. Art’s legacy also includes two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four stepchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and 18 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his loving family, Art is survived by his brothers, Leslie (Sandy) of Winnipeg, MB, and Raymond as well as his sisters, Alma Warniski, Lavina Granger, and Joanie McTavish, all of Brandon, MB. Art was predeceased by his first wife, Olga (nee Kuzmiak), and six siblings.
A funeral service to celebrate Art’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Memories Chapel, located at 330-18th St. N, Brandon, MB, with Major James Rands officiating. Following the service, there will be a reception. Interment will take place at the Ninette Cemetery at approximately 3:45 p.m.
For those who wish to honour Art’s memory, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 9 Princess Avenue East, Brandon, MB R7A 1R8, or to a charity of choice.
