HERBERT (BERT) JOHN CHUNN
Herbert (Bert) John Chunn passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023, after a full life of joy and travel.
Bert was predeceased by his wife, Doreen Chunn (née Rentz) in 2003, and his dear brothers and sisters, Edna, Allan, Dorothy Gordon, Reg, Harold, and Don.
Bert was born on January 14, 1928, in St. James, Manitoba. He lived in St. James, Woodlands and various suburbs of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He married Doreen in October 1950 at Grey St. United Church. In 1964, Bert and family began a new chapter in their lives, moving to Vancouver, BC. Bert studied business management and worked for Pacific Stage Lines and BC Transit before retiring in 1983. In 2005, two years after Doreen‘s passing, Bert enjoyed life with a new partner, Helen Trudeau and their blended families.
Bert was a very caring and humourous fellow who enjoyed golf and travel - to see family, friends and the world!
Bert is survived by his partner, Helen, and children, Don, Debbie, Brenda (Andrew), John (Cindy), Char (Gary), Deborah, Kim, Steve (Ann), and his grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Eleanor, brother-in-law Leo and many nieces, nephews and cousins. His loss is felt deeply by all of us and he will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life was held on September 16, 2023, at Northwood United Church in Surrey, BC. Interment was held at Musselwhite Cemetery on September 17, 2023.
